The latest news from Bradford Camera Club. By Tony Caunt.

After our summer break, the club will meet on 5th September with photo presentations from our members. Then on the 12th there will be a practical and tutorial evening. Either or both of these meetings would be ideal for potential new members who want to see what we do and bring their camera and/or prints for evaluation. One of our members will be sharing his experiences of the Swiss railway system during his holiday in Switzerland on our Thursday 19th, and our president Allan Ogilvie will entertain us on the 26th.

Well, have you taken my advice and got out with your camera during our summer break from June until the end of August? You can’t say there hasn’t been any good weather. You also may have been on holiday. Did you follow my suggestions and visit Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, or did you perhaps go to York Railway Museum? There are six A4 locomotives to see: Mallard, Bittern, Sir Nigel Gresley, Union of South Africa, Dwight D Eisenhower and Dominion of Canada. The last two were shipped over from the US especially for this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition. My picture below shows the 60009 Union of South Africa.

Hope to see you at one of our meetings. Call Allan Ogilvie on 01274 884187 or our secretary Debbie on 01274 824758, or visit https://sites.google.com/site/bradfordcameraclub/
